Mission Statement:

Cheer aims to extend Christian comfort and hope to those parenting alone. We aim to give spiritual encouragement and empathy by coming along individuals in their isolation, as they rebuild their lives towards being in a place of emotional stability and independent living.

Cheer assists single parents, whatever their circumstances, addressing issues of isolation, loneliness, and sometimes even shifts in financial circumstances, offering them fellowship, prayer, teaching and practical help, as well as a listening ear.

The vision is to provide

Comfort:

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

2 Corinthians 1:3 & 4

Hope:

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Empathy:

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathise with our weaknesses, but we have one who had been tempted in every way, just as we are - yet was without sin.

Hebrews 4:15

Encouragement:

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

2 Thessalonians 2:16 & 17

Re-Building:

Then I said to them "You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace."

Nehemiah 2:17
